Hi all,
Well this is finally it. Last week of taper and all roads now lead to Busselton. As with any taper week the load has been alot lighter. All up in the last 4 days I have done 2 swims (5.5kms), 3 rides , one being on the windtrainer , totalling 91kms and 2 runs ..18kms in 1hr 35. I might do a short ride down in bussleton to check the bike, make sure computer is working etc etc and if my heel is feeling ok a very light run.. (it's still a bit tender from run training on Tuesday). Otherwise that's it till the big day on Sunday.
I''ve just done a quick calculation of the training since I started 18 weeks ago. .... and here 'tis
Swim..... 142kms ....49hrs 53mins
Run.........853kms....77hrs 21mins
and Bike ( this one really surprised me) 4567kms....162hours
WOO HOO!!!!!!!!!
I want to take this time now to just thank everybody for their well wishes, for their support over the last 18 weeks. Also to all my family , Mum, Dad and my boys but especially to my husband Will. Also a premature thankyou to all my friends and family coming down to support me this weekend.... it will be all the more special to have you down there to share this with that's for sure.
So to everyone who's been coming along every week , having a read and dropping me a line. . . it's been fun!!! Thanks for all your wonderful supportive comments.
So the next time you log in I hope to have a race to report!!!!

Just got this photo of part of the finish chute up the main street of Busselton.. How cool!!
Instead of leaving you with my usual quote this week i leave you with this You Tube video. I watched (on DVD) this guy race Kona a few years ago (2005). The following year he watched the race in his wheel chair and sadly he had passed away by the time Kona had come around again. Jon Blais.. the Warrior Poet. Have a listen to the words he speaks . I hope they speak to your heart as they did to mine...
Bye for now ... see you on the back of my big day. Stay safe and take care!!!!!!!!!!
