2 More Sleeps!!

Well as the heading says " only 2 more sleeps". I don't know if I'm excited or nervous.

Anyway went for another "casual" ride today with Brad, Sue and Anna. Although Sue is not doing Ironman I am sure she will join us on many of our training rides. It's always great to have the company but having a good friend along is an added bonus..thanks Sue!!

We dropped off at one of Brad's favourite little cafes for breaky (again) " The Dancing Goat".Hey there has to be some benefits to training..don't you think? It's a tiny little place but they make a great coffee and have some yummy breakfasts at good prices.

Check out what we ate.....carb loading..OF COURSE!!!!!

YUMMO!!
So i probably won't chat to you now till i finish my first week of the program. I'll fill you in next week on how it all went. I am going to try and stick to the program as close as possible which should hopefully give me the best possible results. So wish me luck and hope your week is a great one..

IT"S ARRIVED!!!

Well I finally got my program!!! Note to self...when you get an ironman program "DON'T GO STRAIGHT TO WEEK 14". Well that's what i did , and i had what i think you would call a conniption! In laymans terms... i kinda freaked out! Didn't sleep much that night. The whole gammit of emotions, anxiety, doubt and fear running through my head. I thought..what am i doing thinking i could actually do this.
Well that was a couple of days ago now. I've had a chat with "Coach" Brad and his words of wisdom have settled me down. I am now just focusing on the first 4 weeks ( should have done that in the first place!!) Still feeling a little nervous but think those feelings are normal and should settle down when i get into the thick of things. Roll on Aug 2nd.

So from here on in i start believing in myself!!

Have patience with all things,
but chiefly have patience with yourself. Do not lose courage in considering your own imperfections, but instantly set about remedying them - every day begin the task anew.

Well it's been awhile since I last chatted and its been very cold. In fact its been record minimum temps for us here in Perth. I'm still taking training pretty easy but only have a couple more weeks of "grace". In fact I've been pretty slack when it comes to swimming. The bag gets packed and organised the night before and then somehow, just somehow, my hand manages to move over and cancel the alarm and off i go...back to slumber land for another hour. As i said ..only a few more weeks to go and then no more excuses!!!

I have been giving the Bikram Yoga a pretty good go though. I find it really intense and extremely hard and yet i keep going back!! It is sooooo hot in that room.I am now on my 3rd week and have pretty well been doing a minimum of 4 sessions per week..so at 90min sessions..do the sums!! I am sleeping like a log which is great. Any of the poses related to the hips and groin give me the most problems so that means that's where my body needs the most help. Man there are some days i have had trouble walking.. but that's diminishing the more i go.
Even though the classes are identical i am finding that the different instructors all pass on tiny little snippets of info that are really helpful. It really is all about coming into the class and leaving whatever has been going on in your day on the other side of the door. That can be really hard but i am gradually learning to focus more on my breathing and clear my mind of "stuff". I'm sure this is something that would be really helpful OUTSIDE of the yoga room especially for me and my mind going a million miles an hour! I hope this can also be beneficial while out there doing the Ironman to help me stay focused and on task..we will see.

When i started writing today i was actually going to write about inspiration and motivation. Are they the same or different?? I'm still working on that and hope to write about it soon. Maybe you can help me out there with your own thoughts on the subject. Would love to hear what you think.
Cheers and have a great week!
